On The Scene: Uniqlo Spring/Summer 2019 Press Preview

Last week Uniqlo held its Spring/Summer 2019 press preview at Studio 525.

Editors, stylists, and influencers gathered for the unveiling of Uniqlo’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection. Notable guests in attendance included model Chanel Iman and many others. The night featured beautiful installations showcasing next season’s pieces, complimentary Jose Cuervo, TYKU Sake, Japanese hors-d’oeuvres and swag bags. Guests also enjoyed a short film of the upcoming collection in the lounge area of the venue.

The preview showcased the latest collection of Uniqlo LifeWear. Uniqlo defines LifeWear as “apparel that comes from our Japanese values of simplicity, quality, and longevity.” In addition to the original LifeWear line, Uniqlo returns with Uniqlo U: The Future of LifeWear, “a collection of progressive essentials” designed by art director Christophe Lemaire.”

Other upcoming highlights from the collection includes continued collaborations with New York-based designer Hana Tajima and French icon Ines de La Fressange. Fressange’s latest collaboration with Uniqlo is inspired by hi home-town, the romantic little town of Saint-Tropez. Ines’ color pallet samples from his signature indigo, while also drawing from the caramel tones of Saint-Tropez. The upcoming collections feature muted tones with pops of color, cotton and lighter fabrics, light knits and an emphasis on purple and yellow tones.
