On The Scene: Papoose Presents 50 Years of Hip Hop Powered by Tunecore

Last Week the Hip Hop industry gathered to celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop and honor Papoose.

Hosted at Jay-Z’s legendary 40/40 Club, The evening consisted of a star studded red carpet followed by a cocktail hour, awards presentation and performances. The carpet included artists like Remy Ma, Ja Rule, Fabolous, Jim Jones Melle Mell, K Goddess and many more. Powered by Tunecore, the complimentary D’usse cocktails included the Papoose Papoose, the Tunecore & the Head of Hip Hop. After Papoose and his esteemed guests wrapped the carpet they proceeded inside where Papoose, Tunecore’s Head of Hip Hop was honored by the Universal Hip Hop museum with the first ever Hip Hop Artist Exec Award.

After Papoose received his award Tunecore artists like K Goddess performed followed by legends like Ja Rule performing classics like “New York. After Ja Rule’ss performance Papoose called his daughter on stage to show her love. Up next was Fabulous then Jim Jones. During Jim Jone’s performance, Maino and Papoose joined them on stage as the two performed “Slide.” It was a star-studded night to say the least and Remy Ma took the stage next followed by Doug E Fresh. Hip Hop legends and the industry elite came together to honor Papoose and  celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop.
