On The Scene: Museum of Modern Love Opening

On Thursday, October 10thwe had the opportunity to preview the Museum of Modern Love pop-up exhibit, presented by Amazon Prime Video, in honor of its new series Modern Love.

Modern Love is a romantic comedy based off of the popular New York Times column of the same name. The series is an 8-part anthology, featuring stars such as Anne Hathaway, Dev Patel and Tina Fey in situations inspired by actual essays submitted to the column. This half hour series explores the different ways love manifests itself in our relationships and the highs and lows that come with it.

The Museum of Modern Love includes 8 different exhibits centered around each one of the episodes from the show. In order to enter the world of Modern Love, you must first let the doorman standing at the entrance know you are ready to open your heart and let love in. Once inside this interactive museum, you will feel the warmth of the room illuminated by the neon lights surrounding the different exhibits and in the imagery of love projected on the walls.

One of the more memorable experiences is the opportunity to write a loved one’s initials or a special note to them on a giant white ‘growing’ family tree. The museum also features the chance to get your hair touched up by the Living Proof styling station before taking a photo and even a machine offering truffle flavored popcorn.

During the grand opening, the cast including Anne Hathaway, Andrew Scott, Cristin Milioti, Emmy Rossum, Gary Carr, Brandon Kyle Goodman, James Saito, Laurentiu Possa and more enjoyed a sneak-peek. Additional VIP guests included Daniel Jones (New York Times   Editor), Pedro Pascal (Actor, Game of Thrones), Caroline Aaron (Actress, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Justin McLeod (Hinge Founder & CEO), Rachel Dratch (Actress, Saturday Night Live, Wine Country) and   supporting cast members Sarita Choudhury, Arden Wolfe and more.

The Museum of Modern Love is located on 632 Broadway and is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday October 11th to Sunday October 13th.  The show Modern Love will be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video starting October 18th.
