On The Scene: Lil Wayne and Chino Y Nacho Headline Houston’s #BudLightParty

You knew the party arrived in Houston, Texas from the moment you arrived at the Silver Street Studios. With the DJ playing a mix of pop, hip hop, and top 40 tracks you could not only hear the music but you could feel the bass before while in the studio parking lot.

Upon entering the studio there were photo booth stations, an illuminated bud light wall, live artist painting contest, and of course beer, beer, and more beer.

Chingo Bling and DJ Mr. Rogers introduced the opening act of the night, Venezuelan pop duo, Chino Y Nacho (Jesús Alberto Miranda Pérez and Miguel Ignacio Mendoza Donatti). They brought an epic performance filled with excitement, classic hits, and fog machines that covered the crowd. This performance was nothing short of amazing! Houston was an amazing audience at times singing louder than Chino Y Nacho themselves.

The crowd didn’t have a chance to recover from the excitement of Chino Y Nacho before Lil Wayne took center stage. Filled with anticipation the screams took over the studio as he was announced and his performance was nothing short of that, Lil Wayne rocked the house and had the crowd dancing for an hour. He brought the energy and love from the heart of New Orleans, Louisiana to Houston. Between the bass, the visuals, and the lyrical content we didn’t want the show to end. He performed some of his most recent music like “Coco,” “Good Kush and Alcohol,” “We Be Steady Mobbing,” and I’m Going In,” while also giving us ‘throwback” Lil Wayne classics like “Go DJ” and “A Milli,” the same music that made us all fall in love with the artistic abilities and fire he brought to the music industry.

Overall, The Bud Light Party Convention was the highlight party of the summer. An awesome experience that brought people, music, and beer all together to celebrate summer fun and I hope to see them next campaign season.

Bud Light Music also had a major presence at Lollapalooza, bringing an incredible stage moment to the city of Chicago to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the famed music festival. Bud Light Music partnered with local Chicago DJ Duo Flosstradamus to create a stage moment that Lolla attendees will be talking about for years to come. As the electrifying DJ Duo closed out their set, they brought out none other than Chicago native and Chicago Bulls NBA star, Dwyane Wade onto the stage as he excited the crowd with his opening remarks saying, “It feels good to be home Chicago.” Once onstage, Wade continued the All-Chicago-everything theme by bringing out Grammy-Award winning singer Michelle Williams to sing her hit song “Survivor.”  Just when the crowd thought the set couldn’t get any better, Chicago’s favorite hometown artist, Chance the Rapper joined the group onstage to sing hits off his recently released album, Coloring Book, including “No Problems” and “Summer Friends.” Before the group left the stage, they grabbed a few ice-cold Bud Lights for a special toast and invited the festival crowd to take a selfie as they commemorated the festival’s 25th Anniversary. Throughout the day, Bud Light Music was catering to fans in their onsite footprint located on the north-west side of Grant Park adjacent to the Bud Light Stage. Inside the footprint, festival goers who were 21 years and older could order Bud Lights served in the commemorative Lollapalooza cans depicting the windy city’s most whimsical cityscape that pays homage to its rich music history. Along with the cans, Bud Light partnered with local Chicago artist Floyd Davis from Artpentry to bring the can art to life through 6 different wood sculptures depicting instruments and iconic building from the city’s recognizable skyline. An MPC was fully functional along with a keytar allowing festival goers to create unique sounds while in the space all day in between sets.
