As we carefully prepped our dough, we were instantly transported to Nonna’s kitchen in Italy. Thanks to the guidance of the wonderful and talented team at EVÈNTO. Co-founder and Celebrity Chef, Andrea Belfiore shared exclusive tips on how to make the perfect tagliatelle.
Co-founder Sam Akiba welcomed us and shared how he met Chef Belfiore and insight into his journey leading them to create EVÈNTO. Specializing in offering various culinary experiences and classes that draw from family traditions and creativity, particularly in Italian cuisine. It focuses on sharing the joy of cooking and providing unique culinary experiences to people in NYC.
EVÈNTO was established by Andrea Belfiore and Sam Akiba. Andrea comes from Ancona, Italy, his dedication to sharing Italian cuisine with his patrons is rooted in his upbringing. His affection for cooking took root as he spent numerous Sunday afternoons in the kitchen alongside his grandmother, Nonna Anna, even before he could reach the dining table. This is where his passion for the culinary arts was ignited. After working in tech sales for almost 10 years Sam Akiba joined forces with Andrea to help grow EVÈNTO into what it is today. While he enjoyed his time selling technology it’s not nearly as fun as putting together an Italian culinary experience, so he made the jump! He used his experience in B2B sales to put together a strategy to help introduce more people to amazing virtual and in person events.
The event included apps, cocktails, wine and a unique touch, the live sketch artist, Nicolas (follow him: IG). Once we were finished with demos on how to use the pasta machine to make the tagliatelle and/or mold the perfect shape for a homemade cavatelli – it was time for the lights to go down low, music turned up high and disco ball turning.
