ON THE SCENE: DRY CHALLENGE AT SLT TREAD

Right around the corner, we attended the last #TheDryChallenge workout class in honor of the New Year. We sweat and toned at SLT Tread in Nomad – an event hosted by the author of The Dry Challenge: How to Lose the Booze for Dry January, Sober October, and Any Other Alcohol-Free Month.

SLT tread is a hybrid workout that is a combination of 25 minutes of interval-based running/jogging/walking on the Woodway treadmills and 25 minutes on the Megaformer.

After exercising, we chilled out with Damrak zero-proof cocktailsFreixenet Alcohol Removed Wine, and Sir James 101 Nonalcoholic Mojitos (from Better Rhodes). And, after working up an appetite, there were snacks from Breads Bakery (available to take it to-go if we needed to be horizontal after that workout).  Everyone in attendance was matching and looking amazing in attire that was provided by Splits59.

The workout and beverages after were proof that it’s possible to have fun sober and it’s the right step to living a healthy, more focused life. For many, giving up booze feels daunting because it’s such an integral part of our social lives, that’s why Sheinbaum’s book is the definitive guide to giving up.

“The definitive guide to giving up booze.”—People

Foreword by Lo Bosworth

“For many people, drinking a glass of beer or wine after work is a part of everyday life. But did you know taking a break from drinking (even for just a month!) has extreme benefits and can be incredibly life-changing? From losing weight to saving money to sleeping better at night, the overall health and mental gains of going dry for a month are endless.”
