On The Scene: Dreezy’s “Big Dreez” Playback

Last Thursday Dreezy hosted her New York album listening for her latest project Big Dreez out now.

Friends and tastemakers gathered for the Big Dreez playback last Thursday at the Engine Room in New York City. The intimate studio space had guests shoulder to shoulder as they enjoyed complimentary liquor and soul food. Dreezy showed up fashionably late in a beautiful blue, faux fur coat with her friends by her side. Guests rejoiced at Dreezy’s arrival and enjoyed listening to the album before its official premiere. Notable guests who helped Dreezy celebrate the release of her new album included fellow rapper Malibu Mitch and many others.

Big Dreez dropped last Friday, January 25th and includes 10 tracks with quite a few notable features. Standout features include Offset on Dreezy’s hit track “Cash App” as well as Kash Doll on Dreezy’s track, “Chanel Slides.” Harper’s BAZAAR called Dreezy and Kash Doll’s “Chanel Slides” video, “the kind of energy we want to channel in 2019.” “Chanel Slides” is undeniably the fan favorite track off the album with over 1.2 million streams on Spotify alone. Labeled as “one of Chicago’s best lyricists” by Pitchfork, Dreezy does not disappoint on this project and takes her sound to whole new level.
