Maison Courvoisier meets Gitano NYC on a perfect summer afternoon in August.
The upscale liquor brand hosted a private tastemaker’s brunch at the ultra-trendy beach club and restaurant Gitano Island this Sunday to debut their new look.
The cognac is known for its hearty, full flavor, but now they’re switching it up and showing the world how it’s much more than a robust nightcap.
Courvoisier was poured into three light summer cocktails for Sunday’s brunch and were as tasty as they looked.
On the drink menu were signature cocktails The Gala, Island Daisy and Citrus Spritz, which mixed Courvoisier VS or VSOP with lemon, pineapple or orange liqueurs for a lighter, fresh flavor.
The cocktails were expertly paired with the mouthwatering bites of Gitano NYC, located on Governor’s Island just a short (and scenic) ferry ride from lower Manhattan.
Guests were served guacamole, chorizo con queso, a fresh watermelon salad, wagyu meatballs and truffle tlayuda against the backdrop of downtown Manhattan.
And of course, no brunch is complete without French toast – especially topped with mezcal maple syrup.
The Tipsy Scoop joined in on the fun and provided Courvoisier-infused sorbet and even turned the Island Daisy cocktail into an ice pop.
Not only were the courses delicious, the drinks flowing and the aesthetic pleasing, but the group of about 40 New Yorkers was perfectly curated for a vibe that was just right. Everyone in attendance was there to have a good time and celebrate a classic liquor’s new look.
