What happens when you get a pop icon, a patient advocate, a champion boxer and Doctor Oz together to walk in a fashion show is a question that maybe no one ever asked, but it was answered to the hilt at the Blue Jacket Fashion Show, part of New York Fashion Week.
The Blue Jacket Fashion Show is an awareness and support campaign for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and detection. The show eschewed traditional male models and used celebrities from many fields, from Food Network host Jesse Palmer (who looked absolutely dashing and classic in a suit from Domenico Vacca) to Empire actor Jeremy Carver(wearing a more casual look from the always fun Duckie Brown).
Opening the show was David Byrne, an absolute pop culture icon from The Talking Heads to his current Broadway success with American Utopia. It was once in a lifetime to see Byrne walk the runway to one of his own songs wearing a beautiful custom suit by Martin Greenfield Clothiers. Doctor Oz, Bill Nye, Elvis Duran, Carson Kressley, cruiserweight boxing champ Richie LaMontagne, actor Joey Sasso, football’s Buster Skrine and a host of others followed, everyone clearly enjoying themselves and vamping it up for a good cause. The legendary Mr. Andre’ Leon Tally sat on a throne and added some flavor as host(and hype man). All in all a wonderful show for a wonderful cause; visit www.PCF.org for more info.
