The ESPY’s were kicked off by the 15th annual “The Golf Classic” with Malbon Golf. Dosist and Hublot. The Knockturnal was able to attend this celebrity studded charity golf event at Calabasas Country Club on July 8, 2019. The Golf Classic had only recently relocated to Los Angeles after being a renowned staple in the Hamptons. What a better place to call home than this 18-hole championship-style course nestled in the hills of Calabasas.

It’s such a beautiful day especially after the fourth, coming out here to support such a great cause. It was such a good event, we really enjoyed it,” said Jason Wahler. His wife Ashley Wahler echoed his enthusiasm by stating, “We had such a blast! It was my first time golfing and I actually didn’t do too terrible so I think I’m going to take it up as a hobby!”

With an event like this, as with any sporting event things were quick to become competeive. For many, this was’t their first rodeo, as others swung their clubs for the first time. Some stars evenshined on the course and showcased their hidden potential while the rest simply enjoyed the good vibes. Camille Kostek was not to be expecred as anythingless than the former, “This feels natural for me, I’ve always loved sports, I’ve always loved following sports. The closest I’ve been to being on a real golf course, was playing mini golf, so I knew this was going to be a challenge today. But I love the stuff that challenges me. I love being around sports, I have a really competitive nature. I love getting in on the action and not sitting on the sidelines. I like to be all up on the sports when I can – it’s my competitive nature, so this is fun!”
Kostek (former cheerleader for the New England Patriots and current Sports Illustrated cover star) is undeniably no stranger to sporting events, and her endurance on the course was only a testament to that. “She’s new to golf but she’s picking up the sport very quickly,” said Jesse Metcalfe of Kostek. As for himself, Metcalfe exclaimed, “I’ve been golfing since I was 6/7 years old! It doesn’t reflect on the course but I’ve been playing a long time!”
HUBLOT showcased their Big Bang UNICO Golf Blue Carbon watches that were designed, developed, manufactured and assembled for avid players of the game. Powered by HUB1580 movement, the watch allows golfers to seamlessly calculate their score whilst on course, featuring aperture displays and is ultra-lightweight providing true performance. When asked what were her final thoughts of the event Kostek smiled and said, “I’m having a lot of fun! I don’t know if I was the ideal teammate but I got a birdie one time so I learned what that was today!” before quickly running off to finish the game.
The overall verdict? Well I’d say – it was unFOREgettable.
