Of Mercer Launches First Flagship Store

Of Mercer unveiled their flagship retail space and hosted a desk-to-dinner fashion presentation.

On Thursday, October 22, 2015, designers of womenswear brand, Of Mercer, unveiled their first ever store located in the Fifth Avenue/Broadway area of Manhattan. To celebrate, the designers held a social event at the store that was all inclusive of the press, photographers, investors, and well established industry influencers. A recognizable guest is Selenis Leyva from Netflix’s hit show, “Orange is the new black”. Leyva mingled with guests and seemed to really enjoy aura of the event.

With models strategically walking around the store in Of Mercer clothing, it was almost impossible for one to overlook the material. Capitalizing on workwear ensembles that are modern, and comfortable for women, the blazers, jackets, dresses and skirts were all very well made and structured. Think Ivanka Trump, Michelle Obama and, Blair Waldorf.

Designers, Dorie Golkin-Smith and Emelyn Northway were quick to emphasize the quality of the material used to construct the clothes in regards to keeping the brand updated but cool. Specifically, the line features Japanese fabrics and Italian Wool incorporated into blue, maroon, white, and black ensembles. Some were reminiscent of Diane Von Furstenberg’s wrap dresses. Between Of Mercer securing buyers on spot, and guests enjoying their time listening to Top 40 music, and refreshments, it’s safe to say it was a successful night for Smith and Northway.
