The Adore Me runway was upbeat, magnetic, and showcased flattering lingerie designed for inclusivity, empowerment, and aesthetic.
On Wednesday, February 7, NYFW began and AdoreMe held a runway show in the Lower East Side of the city. Guests were welcomed into the Angel Orensanz Foundation where music was booming and drinks were flowing.
As the lights dimmed, the CEO of AdoreMe, Morgan Hermand-Waiche took the stage and warmly welcomed guests, including the CEO of Victoria’s Secret, Martin Waters, who was also in attendance. Hermand-Waiched reiterated that AdoreMe was one of the first lingerie brands to overcome the technical and marketing hurdles that came with inclusive lingerie as the brand was making a name for itself. Today, AdoreMe is inspiring a new movement by allowing customers to try lingerie on at home and return it if it’s not a good fit – something revolutionary for the industry and that is rare to find among lingerie brands.
Excitement grew as the runway show began. Model Iskra Lawrence opened the show with a cheerful smile and confident walk. The music was upbeat and a fantastic remix of modern day pop songs and bred an upbeat energy. Attendees began cheering and clapping as their favourite looks strutted past, and models were playful with the audience.
The show was divided into three sections. The first was romantic, euphoric, and a testament to the giddiness of the honeymoon phase. The looks were bright, flowery, pink, and fresh. The models were decorated with flowers throughout their hair, puffy bows that mimicked a tail, while the lingerie were laced with hearts. The second section of the show reflected on the grief of heartbreak and betrayal that inevitably comes with love. The looks were centered around cool-toned hues such as blues, greens, and purples. Finally, the show closed out with a wedding theme. Bridal-esque designs were cleverly incorporated into the lingerie.
After the runway, Grammy winner Ashanti surprised attendees with a live performance of some of her most iconic songs such as “Foolish” followed by an after party with cocktails. The models mingled with guests and all partied the night away.
