NYFW: Rebecca Minkoff’s Glam Rock Inspired FW’20 Collection Is Everything

Even during a socially distant, COVID cautious NYFW, Rebecca Minkoff delivered an incredible NYFW FW’20 presentation.

Fashion week has been different amid the pandemic, but it’s still an exciting time of year. While many designers have opted for virtual fashion shows, Rebecca Minkoff held her FW20 presentation on the Spring Studios rooftop. Both Spring Studios and Rebecca Minkoff did a great job with safety protocols to keep all attendees safe while enjoying the rooftop presentation. All guests had their temperatures checked upon arrival, were required to wear masks, and were given viewing times with a limited amount of guests in each time slot. With fewer people viewing the presentation, I got to take in everything a bit more than previous experiences and loved every minute of it.

“I always find myself going back to music as a jumping-off point for my inspiration season after season. For my Fall 2020 collection, I wanted to capture the essence of the Rebecca Minkoff girl who is multifaceted in all aspects of her life”, describes the designer, Rebecca Minkoff. The FW’20 collection infuses glam rock flare with soft, bohemian accents. It comes to life through seasonal plaids, leopard, florals, and strong leather statement pieces. The handbags that complete each look include saddlebags, studded crossbodies, fringe buckets, and styles that incorporate moto detailing.

One of the coolest things about the presentation was the matching face masks. It goes to show that Rebecca Minkoff paid close attention to detail.  I found myself hoping I could get my hands on a Rebecca Minkoff leopard-print face mask. Overall I’m in love with the prints with leopard being my favorite. Rebecca consistently creates clothing that represents and celebrates modern women.
