NYFW FW24: Laurence Basse Closes Out NYFW with “Burn the City”

The Laurence Basse runway was fiery, hot, and another successful show in NYFW.

Tuesday, February 13, Laurence Basse showcases “Burn the City” at the Paramount Building to close out NYFW. Basse is known for her leather expertise and when asked to describe the collection in one word, chose “warrior”. The looks were a combination of leather, denim, silk, and wool with gentle additions of pink, blue, green, and metallic to showcase the contrast between war and peace – a key source of inspiration behind the collection. Basse partnered with Mr. O. Atelier for the jewelry on the models this season.

Basse’s French background reflects in the structure of the clothes. She draws inspiration from the clean lines and structural elements of buildings, which she incorporates into her designs as architecture for the body. The unique blend of art and architecture, the duality of genre, the hard and the soft, sets her apart in the fashion industry.
