New Fashion Week came at us full throttle with more shows, designers, and beauty looks. TRESemmé is the official haircare sponsor for NYFW and never disappoints when bringing the best looks from the best hair stylists. TRESemmé’s Global Stylist, Justine Marjan, brought her hairstyling talents, tips, and clips to Rebecca Minkoff’s NYFW SS’20 presentation.

For TRESemmé’s 23rd season at NYFW, they set out to make an impact and share an important message. Did you know that women make up 70% of the fashion industry’s workforce, yet only 25% of its leadership positions? If not, TRESemmé is bringing awareness by launching their #WomenLeadTheWay pledge, a commitment to closing the gender leadership gap in the fashion industry. TRESemmé’s pledge went hand in hand with Rebecca Minkoff’s ss20 presentation, celebrating the working women.

Justine Marjan created an array of looks for the Rebecca Minkoff SS20 presentation. The “Pop of Color Ready to Work Bun” was the staple look for the Rebecca Minkoff show. Justine shared, “This low bun has a fun twist with a pop-of-color that matches Rebecca’s collection. It ties back to the office-theme of the presentation and really depicts a confident working woman who has fun on the weekends or at a festival! I love how subdued the color is as if it’s faded like she’s holding onto a memory, but the placement is still easily concealed.”  While some models had the cute “Ready to Work Bun” with a fun streak of color added, there were some different hairstyles, and hair textures floating around backstage. “The different looks are showing how we’re challenging what it means to look professional. There is more individuality and inclusivity in the workplace for women. It’s all about the models’ individual look because that’s what women look like in the workplace.” Justine also shared with us. Overall all the looks were effortless, fun, and still representative of a working woman.

To get this fun fashion week messy bun here’s quick a how-to straight from TRESemme’s Global Stylist, Justine Marjan.

Step 1: Prep dry hair by spraying the TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hair Spray Hold Level 4: Extend all over.

Step 2: Use fingers to create a messy, uneven part.

Step 3: Attach a colored hair extension just above the ear on one side.

Step 4: Use the ghd platinum + styler to create a bend on random pieces of hair if it’s too straight or without any texture.

Step 5: ay the TRESemmé Between Washes Volumizing Dry Shampoo at the roots and massage with fingers to distribute evenly for additional volume and body.

Step 6: Gather hair with hands at the nape of the neck and twist into a loose bun.

Step 7: Secure with bobby pins leaving ends untucked from the bun for a messy look.

Step 8: Pull out face framing pieces and massage roots with fingers to add some texture and to accentuate the messy look.

Step 9: Finish by spraying TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hair Spray Hold Level 4: Extend all over to secure the look.
