New ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Trailer Released

The latest X-Men: Apocalypse trailer, the third and final one, has been released.

This trailer gave audiences a much better look at the upcoming film. The first thing that stood out from the trailer is the inclusion of Wolverine. The mutant star, played by Hugh Jackman, was not previously seen in any of the previous trailers. His inclusion also suggests at least a partial continuation of the plot line of Wolverine’s past and Akali Lake.

Another happy revelation of this trailer is Quicksilver seems to play a bigger role. The speedy mutant was a very popular character in the last film, and the trailer reveals Quicksilver as being Magneto’s son, which was also hinted at in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Along with that, the trailer teases revealing more about Magneto’s family.

Besides giving fans peaks at some of the cameos and moments of film, the trailer also shows us some of the important plot points. We get to see more of Apocalypse’s plan, as well as origins. We see more of the destruction he plans to cause with scenes of nuclear weapons, chaos, and quotes about the destruction of humanity. Still, the trailer does a good job of leaving the original mutants goals slightly ambiguous, with his capturing of Professor Xavier and use of his 4 horsemen.

The other major plot element revealed in this trailer stems from Professor Xavier’s capture, as Mystique, played by Jennifer Lawrence, seems to become the de-facto leader of the X-Men. The narrative seems to focus around Mystique’s leadership of the X-Men as well as the students from Professor Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters against what seems to be the world’s most powerful mutant.

X-Men: Apocalypse wil be in theaters on May 27, 2016.
