MATPHILLY & SUBSHOCKERS PRESENT: A.M.P.

LA-based artists matphilly and SUBshockers recently united in a powerful 5-track EP, A.M.P., titled after the initials of matphilly’s brother who tragically passed away in 2020. To honor his memory and as a form of self-healing, matphilly recruited his close friends and talented production duo SUBshockers to create a reflective and sentimental body of work. The A.M.P. EP beautifully commemorates his legacy via delicate sonic textures, lush soundscapes, invigorating bass drops, and guest vocals from JROHMSKII and Danica Reyes. Using music as a therapeutic output, matphilly produces some of his best work yet, and is guaranteed to tug at emotional heartstrings when played live in his upcoming audio-visual performances.

FRAMEWORKS – COLD

Following in the footsteps of evocative recent singles “Circles,” “NO TIME,” and “BLUE LIGHT feat. Cleopold,” which set the tone for Frameworks’ new beat-oriented musical direction, “Cold” is another sign of exciting things to come from Manchester-based talent Frameworks’ upcoming album, Reflections. Showcasing Frameworks’ talent for rich, warm compositions, “Cold” scatters chopped-up vocal melodies over an atmospheric trip-hop beat, draped in blossoming strings and haunting pianos. To align with his current musical and philosophical mentality, Frameworks is moving away from the downtempo, nostalgic stylings of his past work into an electronica-fueled sound that emphasizes the need for enjoying the present. Reflections is out April 14th.
