Welcome the weekend with a string of genre-bending cuts.

APACHE – WORK (FT. YOUNG BUCK)

Gaining a substantial amount of momentum for his upcoming Renaissance album, Apashe has now released the fourth single, ‘Work’ from the LP, featuring prolific rapper Young Buck‘Work’ offers an entirely different soundscape from each of the preceding singles, solidifying Apashe’s diverse skill set, unconfined within the realm of electronic music.

CHRISTIAN LÖFFLER – NOAH

Noah’ kicks off with atmospheric pitched down vocals, Löffler’s own, layered over a bass synth, setting the melancholic tone for the track. Syncopated hits strike an emotional chord and douse the track with a completely natural feel; the lead synth subtly gives the track body and direction.  Beautiful ambient melodic plucks, shaken percussion, and driving bass kicks swirl in synchronicity to deliver Löffler’s enigmatic expression. With parts ebbing and flowing, ‘Noah’ encompasses the imperfect dichotomy between a haunting cocktail of vocal-led synths, and enthralling, rhythmic percussion that drive the track forward.

BLOOD ON GUITARS – ISOLATION

‘isolation’ leads with a harmonious guitar, and percussion pattern that is both soothing and engaging. The track incorporates a distorted vocal sample as it transitions from a rock melody into a whirling electronic bassline. The softer instrumentals complement the heavier basslines, forming a distinct sonic package. With a few releases under his belt, Blood On Guitars has established his signature sound as a hybrid between punk rock and electronic music, and ‘isolation’ effortlessly blends these genres together.

MAISON WARE – MIND EP

Inviting listeners into his secret society through spell-like sounds, Maison Ware’s latest addition to his catalogue serves as a haunting exhibition of impressive midtempo mastery. Sultry sweet vocals juxtapose against a dark, fleeting bassline in the EPs namesake track, “Mind,” as Maison Ware weaves shadowy pathways into the brains deepest and darkest cavities. Laced with brooding tinges of tech-house flare, “Satisfy” yet again captivates with entrancing vocals. “Now you got me” reverberates over a nefariously oscillating bass-fueled backsound, as Maison Ware beckons the masses to join his society.

ROCKET PENGWIN – UNIQUE

‘Unique’ opens with an enticing guitar solo before cascading into a surging melody. The vocal overlay provides a sense of optimism buried by angst with the lyrics “Everything’s broken, but that’s how you let the light in”. Serving as the focal point of the song, the chorus “I’m unique just like everyone else, but I’m not everyone else” emulates the theme of the song and subsequent music video. ‘Unique’ features harmonious guitar elements, an edgy vocal offering, and throbbing bassline. Clocking in at three and a half minutes, the track showcases a blend of electronic and pop punk sensibilities, which are the cornerstones of the Rocket Pengwin sound.

BEL – BETTER THAN ME

Bel exists at the crossroads of art, music, design and fashion, portrayed through all of her visuals. She’s equal parts delicate and provocative, carries a keen sense of fashion diplomacy and mystery. The Melbourne-based artist’s “Better Than Me  features sleek production, an otherworldly charm, and showcases an artist pushing through the world’s chaos and confusion.
