Last night, I took the A train downtown to Brooklyn and got off at the Utica Avenue stop to Happy Cork.
The Knockturnal attended a unique, virtual (yet INTERACTIVE) John Legend event at the famed Brooklyn wine & spirits shop on Thursday, December 7. While John Legend was broadcasting live from his home in California, the Happy Cork Tasting Room invited us to the live stream where I was able to send song requests to John Legend and sample his wine. John Legend’s LVE Wine is as great as his music, I tried the Rose. Its tone was smooth & warm and leaves you feeling good inside. If you didn’t know now you do! Yes, LVE Wine is just as enjoyable as his music!
I was delighted to meet Happy Cork founder Sunshine Foss who is revolutionizing the wine & spirits industry with her community-focused, mission-oriented shop that specializes in Black-owned and minority-owned brands. Her name is aligned with her energy, upon meeting her the first thing you will be greeted by is her infectious smile as well as her welcoming personality. I shared with Sunshine being a native Brooklynite how proud I am of what she’s accomplished this far. The Happy Corn toasting room is a very well-decorated space reminiscent of a New Orleans jazz living room where they can host gatherings, think tanks, and private events which make it one of a kind In the borough. Located at
Happy Cork – 51 Buffalo Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11233
We may have had a few too many as the other guests were also die-hard fans and boy did we belt out while John Legend’s was streaming, this was an intimate experience like no other. I left feeling inspiration, and connection and had a great time at the #SingalongWithJohnLegend at the Happy Cork toasting room.
