On January 27th, RHONY’s Kelly Bensimon, Anne Grauso, Alice + Olivia CEO Stacey Bendet and more hosted a party at NYC’s No. 8 club, celebrating Steve Eichner and Daniela Kirch’s new photography tech venture, Nameface. We stopped in to check it out and here’s what we found!
With adventurous, fruity drinks on open pour at the bar, camera flashes every few seconds, and DJs Mad Marj and Nappy G bumping a diverse mix of disco hits, pop remixes, and classic house tracks, No. 8 in Chelsea, steps from the DREAM Hotel in Chelsea, NYC was hot for Nameface. Outside, a gaggle of beautiful people were trying to get in the door while VIP’s such as Nicole Miller, Andy Hilfiger, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, Peter Som, Emma Snowdon-Jones, Sarah Tay, and Chuck Garelick, and over 500 more enjoyed the party inside.
The occasion was worthy of such celebration: Major celebrity photographer Steve Eichner and German tech-start-up personality Daniela Kirsch celebrated the launch of their new venture, NameFace.com and announced the second stage of development had begun through Kickstarter, a website designed for crowdfunding new projects. With the help of Kickstarter, nameface.com can continue. NameFace is a critical web solution that quickly and accurately identifies the names of public figures. It is a vast, intelligent, and ultimately automated archive of faces and names that will assist photographers, public relations companies, and anybody else that needs to match a face to a name. While it seems like a niche product, it has incredible uses, from blogs like Knockturnal to news organizations and even emergency services.
Guests at the party were able to experience nameface themselves and donate to the Kickstarter.
