Greenwich International Film Festival Opening Night will take place on June 1 at the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich.
This year the Greenwich International Film Festival focuses on female filmmakers and empowerment within the industry. Ms. Lauryn Hill seems like an obvious choice to kick off the festival due to her contributions to the culture as well as a well rounded artistic past.
Ms. Hill sang and deeply appreciated music at a young age, known for being very animated, she also acted, danced and enjoyed performance art of various kinds. After graduating high school, she attended Columbia University in New York while a member of the then up and coming musical group The Fugees.
Proceeds from the festival will benefit Ms. Hill’s charity fund, which supports education, health, agriculture, technology, and community-based businesses throughout the Diaspora.
Tickets for the Opening Night Party are on sale today, April 2, 2018, at www.greenwichfilm.org.
