Movie Trailers Takeover At the Super Bowl

Super Bowl weekend has officially passed and even though Panthers fans are sitting back and watching Broncos fans celebrate, the real winners are movie lovers who got a glimpse at so many trailers on the big day.

The Super Bowl has always been a big event as the football season boils down into an all out championship game for the glorious title, however as the years have gone by the game day is known for so many other things. Of course everyone is excited for the Halftime show, especially as the performances become more and more elaborate, but many are also excited for the off-air time. The Super Bowl is the perfect time for any brand’s marketing department to start “flexing” for new products or services because millions of viewers are tuning in and keeping their attention on those 30 second air time. Knowing this, filmmakers took their time to shine and broadcasted trailers garnering the most views in one sitting. Here are some of the best trailers that came out of the game night:

Captain America: Civil War

The highly anticipated third installment of the Captain American series will be hitting theaters May 6th. Taking the chance to overtake DC’s Batman vs. Superman, Marvel gave fans a brand new trailer that gives an action packed look into the movie.

Jason Bourne

Matt Damon returns as titular character Bourne after Jeremy Renner took over for one movie. Bulking up and delivering his usual calm demeanor, the new trailer gave fans a look at what they missed the most from the Bourne series in a brand new trailer.

Eddie the Eagle

Coming from Kingsman fame, Taron Egerton returns to the silver screen with a sports biopic of types. Hashing up the successful sports movie formula of showing an underdog defeating the odds, the TV spot for the new movie also intertwined famous football players giving their positive reviews of the movie.

Independence Day: Resurgence

Hopefully bringing back the glory that was the 1996 blockbuster directed by Roland Emmerich, fans got a look at the new trailer for the “sequel” of the movie. The trailer shows the aliens coming back to Earth but bigger and stronger, but Earth is now in a time when they have advanced as well in fear of another attack. Reprising their signature roles are Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman, but sadly no Will Smith.

Last but certainly not least of the trailers that graced the Super Bowl,

Deadpool

Coming out this Valentine’s Day weekend, the marketing team for the movie have done a spectacular job grabbing people’s attention. Even though the movie’s release date is much closer than the other films previewed, the team clearly grabbed a precious TV spot to show fans another look at the “merc with a mouth”.
