Mira Nachman Hosts Second Photography STRIP Exhibit In NYC

Israeli fine-art photographer Mira Nachman recently celebrated her second solo photography exhibit titled ‘STRIP’ at the MADE Hotel in New York lat Wednesday, November 7th.

After Nachman’s first exhibition last year in New York, she found herself drawn back to the urban jungle because “there is no limits. No end to what you can do. [There is] freedom” in New York.

Through the STRIP exhibit, Nachman hopes to peal awake societal expectations and refers to the showcase as “the Reawakening of the Self” as she sees it. The exhibit is a compilation taken in the urban environments of both New York and Nachman’s home city, Tel Aviv.

“I believe we have to go with our destiny, and in the years, we learn so many things that we learn from all over, from our parents and teachers,” said Nachman. “What happened to me at 40 years old, I said I want to do what I feel. I want to be happy and I started to take photographs.”

“When I was 50, I had my first exhibition in New York; this is my second. I feel that in my art and my soul. I make what I want to do and not what people expect me to do,” she added.

Due to the exhibit’s success, it has been extended to Nov. 30th.
