The film is based on the life of Stuart Long and follows his journey to the priesthood. Wahlberg embodies Long’s character as he progresses through multiple life-changing events and circumstances. He navigated through life and suffered from self-destructive behaviors and actions to find his purpose in life. He remained dedicated to his vocation when many around him were skeptical due to his past and progressive illness.
