Marisabel Bazan showcased her newest art exhibition SOULSTICE 2021 hosted by Exxhibit Art at Mondrian Los Angeles’ iconic Magic Box on Thursday June 24th.
Guests were invited to a private champagne reception to celebrate the exhibit’s opening. The event was hosted by Exxhibit Art, a conceptual retail hospitality consulting company, curating shows in both Miami and Los Angeles. Their goal is to extend the hotel guest’s experience by offering both culture and commerce under one curated ambiance. Which is exactly what they accomplished with Bazan’s exhibition SOULSTICE.

Days after the beginning of the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, SOULSTICE is an exhibition that celebrates the return to the light. Bazan invites guests to take a moment and reestablish the connection of the human spirit. After being socially distanced from people outside of our immediate homes for more than a year, Bazan felt inspired to honor the ethereal space that we as a collective were forced to sit in this last year. Allowing ourselves to pause in between the on the go moments, making space for the light to come in. SOULSTICE, is a testimony to the triumph over the darkness, welcoming transmutation of a new era of the human experience. Represented through the depictions of butterflies, the exhibit challenges guests to let go of the ego within. The artwork itself is rendered through plays on color, texture, abstract shapes and movement. Bazan incorporates pieces of copper into her work, which promotes healing and emphasizes human health and wellbeing. Each piece is carefully and intentionally crafted, a theme that transcends beyond the work on display and pours into Bazan’s life, living with intention.

Marisabel Bazan is a Panamanian cross-disciplinary artist living and working in Los Angeles. Her expressionist works are inspired by her urban community and reflect a vast array of topics including mental-health, metamorphosis and the human spirit. Her work has been exhibited internationally including the United Nations (Geneva), the Lancaster Museum of Art (Lancaster, USA), Imagen Galeria (Panama City) and Audrey Love Gallery (Miami), as well as public commissions including The Dream Big Collection at Times Square (New York), Dance of the Butterflies commissioned by the Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission of West Hollywood (LA) and il Cammino Della Farfalla on the famous La Cresta stairs in Panama City. Her work is included in important public and private collections including the United Nations (Geneva), the Latino Art Museum (Pomona, USA) and the public art collection of Panama City. Her latest exhibition, SOULSTICE, is available for viewing at the Mondrian Los Angeles until August 3rd 2021.
