Mage Wins Kentucky Derby

The sports world has a new champion.

The 149th Run of the Roses was dominated by Mage and jockey Javier Castellano. Owned by OGMA investments, Ramiro Restrepo, Sterling Racing and CMNWLTH and trained by Gustavo Delgado, the horse won with a time of 2:01:57.

It brought Castellano his first Kentucky Derby win after going 0-15 before this incredible year. “He’s a little horse with a big heart,” said the jockey.

The smaller field with five horses scratched with one including the favorite Forte was still full of big excitement as the payout for Mage was $32.42 to win, $14.58 to place, and $9.08 to show.
