Love to Dance? House of X launches at PUBLIC Hotel in Lower East Side

The first Manhattan outpost for House of Yes is the perfect place to get some dancing done in an opulent, performance-filled atmosphere.

Taking over the expansive entertainment space at Lower East Side’s PUBLIC hotel, we were able to step inside the world created by the founders of the venerable House of Yes.

Now open to the public, House of X is PUBLIC’s most transformative event series yet, featuring a mix of world-class and local DJs and performance art, maintaining the culture of radical expression and inclusiveness that defines the House of Yes experience.

House of X feels noticeably more upmarket than the House of Yes Bushwick location, with red velvet drapes encircling the dance floor and bar areas that feature an elevated and inventive cocktail menu from esteemed mixologist brothers Mcson and Orson Salicetti.

Grab a drink and explore the playground of multimedia performances where guests can dance, relax in a variety of lushly-designed spaces, receive bottle service with a rich performance element, or discover various rooms featuring intimate installations and live art.

Just like House of Yes, House of X continues to celebrate the undiscovered and the underground as much as it celebrates New York legends and celebrity icons.

Select collaborators such as Andrea Murillo and Kyle Driggs of 3AM Theater who have credits like Cirque Du Soleil and Sleep No More to their name will be working with new talent and invigorating the never-ending nightlife story.

Staying true to their creative ethos, House of Yes employed local artists to enhance the House of X space. Artists Kat Ryals & Olivia Taylor worked together to create an intricate stairwell and display case installation, painters Anthony Padilla and Tom Prinsell created bespoke wall pieces that transport guests into another realm, and photographers such as Anna Cone.

Anya Sapozhnikova, co-founder of House of Yes says, “House of X at PUBLIC expresses a natural progression and growth of where we, as founders, have arrived. The level of production and the types of programming, and the complexity of the messaging mirrors the level of maturity we’ve established as producers and creators. This venue represents another facet of our personality, wants, and desires, where we can lean into conceptual art, continue to cultivate culture and community, and put unique performers center stage in a beautiful space.”

Kae Burke, co-founder adds, “The hiatus over the past 18 months has given us time to reflect and develop a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper appreciation for nightlife culture. Spaces like House of Yes, and now House of X, are essential incubators that allow people to express themselves and let go. Nightlife brings people together, it’s as simple as that, and House of X is our offering to the city that we love, an intention to continue this culture and legacy into a new future.”

The opening night party was truly a celebration of the unexpected, with guests enjoying mind-bending performances and high-concept cocktails along with lush sounds of Till Von Sein.

House of X is open Friday and Saturday nights from 10:00 PM – 4:00 AM at PUBLIC, 215 Christie Street, New York, NY 10002
