London + Martin, a new tavern located in the Financial District (FiDi) of New York City, is set to open its doors on May 3rd, offering a sophisticated dining experience with a classic elevated menu.
Situated in a 17th-century building that evokes a sense of history, the owners have taken great care to incorporate design elements, food, and drinks that pay homage to the space’s past while adding modern touches.
Spanning 4,000 square feet, the tavern boasts an impressive and stylish centerpiece bar on the first floor. With seating arrangements catering to different party sizes, guests can enjoy high tops, cozy booth seating, or after-work drinks at the bar. The second floor offers a continuation of the vibrant atmosphere with similar seating arrangements and a noteworthy bar featuring classic film screenings and sports events on TV.
London + Martin’s cocktail program draws inspiration from FiDi’s history and notable moments, with drinks like The Peck Slip, a smoky and spicy concoction made with dragon fruit, mezcal, and jalapeno, paying tribute to the area’s rich heritage. The menu also showcases a martini program, featuring classics with unique presentations like a gold olive garnish or a tableside-served sidecar. For a sophisticated twist on staple items, the bar service includes the New York Happy Meal, pairing the Original Burger with a wagyu blend, fries, and a dirty martini.
Chef James Akins, formerly of Le Bernardin Prive, curates a menu of New American cuisine with modern twists. Highlights include the L&M Signature Burger with a wagyu blend, smoked gouda, manchego cheese, and peach-glazed bacon, as well as the indulgent FiDi French Dip with shaved ribeye, sautéed peppers, onions, and American cheese. Brunch options offer playful and enticing dishes like Creme Brulee Pancakes, Lobster Mac n Cheese Waffles, and Old Bay, Cheddar & Chicken Biscuits.
