Lifetime’s ‘The Pop Game’ Premieres at Milk JamRoom Featuring Timbaland

Here’s everything you need to know about “The Pop Game” Premiere.

Timabaland hosted the evening, as the appointed mentor on Lifetime’s upcoming series The Pop Game. The Pop Game will be a reality, music, competition show with many musical guests to help guide the five contestants on their journey. Five will compete, but only one lucky and talented artist-in-the-making will receive a contract with Timbaland’s label Mosley Music Group. If you’re asking “why Timbo?” Then you need to take a second to look back at some of the biggest hits from the past decade and ask yourself “who produced or wrote this song?” We first and foremost think of Timbaland as an artist and producer, but he’s been somewhat of a hit-maker with a Midas touch. If anyone can guide someone towards the light -the limelight that is- it’s Timbaland.

The night was a lot of fun packed with a musical showcase. Each of the five contestants brought their own unique talents to the Milk JamRoom stage. The five contestants ranging from 13 to 17 are Madysyn Rose, Ashlund Jade, Cravetay, Grant Landis and Ian Grey. Madysyn kicked things off with the first performance of the evening which is intimidating for any artist, especially an artist in the making, but she rose to the occasion and gave a great show. Ian really put his soul into his performance and his facial expressions were everything. Cravetay’s energy and style was amazing, not to mention her voice. Up next was 13-year-old Ashlund! I honestly couldn’t believe she was only 13! Grant performed last and serenaded the crowd. It was amazing watching all the young singers live and I can’t wait to watch them grow.

The Pop Game is a sequel series to Jermaine Dupree’s The Rap Game, with the same premise using a different genre. This series is also executively produced by Dupree along with the legendary Queen Latifah. Other great talents joining the show throughout the season will include JoJo, Jordin Sparks and Nelly. Look out for The Pop Game premiere on Feb. 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Lifetime.
