Leonardo DiCaprio, Janelle Monae, Diplo, Paris Hilton, Wilmer Valderamma, Rumer Willis, Scout Willis, Winnie Harlow, Estelle, Dylan McDermott, Billy Idol, Michael Chow, Nicholas Kirkwood and more of Hollywood’s A-list set toasted the Grand Opening of The West Hollywood EDITION hotel, located in the heart of the Sunset Strip. The legendary Ian Schrager and Arne Sorenson hosted the exclusive, invite-only event on Wednesday night.
As the tenth EDITION hotel but the very first EDITION property to hit the West Coast, the hotel recaptures the spirit and energy of one of California’s most famous addresses.
Kicking off with a dinner created by chef John Frazer at the hotel’s landmark restaurant Ardor (expect to see a lot of Instagram shots here), the celebrations continued throughout the night with specialty cocktails on The Roof (another hotspot that’s sure to dominate social feeds). Here, guests were treated to some of the most spectacular, Insta-friendly views in LA as well as a special DJ set by DJ Allie Tellez. A live performance by Janelle Monae kept the party going in the hotel’s late-night music venue, which was followed by a DJ set from Q Tip and Pookie.
Long heralded for turning dreams into chic reality from his days as one of the masterminds behind Studio 54, the California Dreamin’ Ian Schrager partnered with Marriott International to bring this hotel to life. “With architecture, design, entertainment and service, we try to offer something that people have never experienced before. I was lucky enough to be part of West Hollywood’s second cultural rebirth, and now with a whole new wave of hotels, apartments and restaurants, I’m happy to be part of its third renaissance, recapturing Sunset Boulevard’s magic and immortalizing it with that same ethos,” said Ian Schrager.
