Lemon’s rooftop bar presents a five-part series called Sunset songs which is a free live performance that happens every other Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm this summer. The series is the newest summer rooftop concept presented by Jon Neidich and Golden Age Hospitality and curated by IAMSOUND.
This Tuesday was full of soul, fun and zest at Williamsburg’s Rooftop bar called Lemon’s. The night featured soul songstress, Duendita who performed a series of songs including her song Magdalena where she remembers her late aunt. Magdalena is also featured on her debut EP Direct line to my Creator. Duendita is Puerto Rican and Afro Latinx and her EP celebrates the people she loves and addresses the pain of racial gendered oppression while uplighting black women as she celebrates her ancestry and of course the highs and lows of life. The Queens-based artist has an angelic, powerful yet honest voice that makes one tap into their inner-self and it was felt on Tuesday as everyone gathered in close to experience Duendita’a musical talent. Duendita’s stage name is inspired by the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca’s concept of duende which is the inexplicable, mysterious feeling felt when a piece of art makes your arm hairs stand up.
Duendita’s unique sound can be found on all musical platforms including Apple Music and Spotify.
