Leica Unveils Their First Laser TV, The Leica Cine 1

Movie level quality at the comfort of your home

Last week we got a chance to see a private preview of the new Leica Cine 1 Home Cinema offering.  Using state of the art laser technology, the Leica Cine 1 is the first laser TV home offering that people can purchase for themselves.  We had the opportunity to see the Cine 1 Home Cinema with our own eyes and it did not let us down.  The first thing we noticed was the incredible image quality for the film being displayed.  Not only was every little part of the foreground and background on full display, but the quality was so crisp that we could even see the pores on the actors in the film.  The cherry on top was that we were able to play around with the lighting of the room, turning the lights from dim to full blast.  And the result of that experiment was a seemingly lossless image quality where the details and crisp images didn’t fade or blur with the exposure to light.  Alongside the incredible image quality, the sound coming from the Cine 1 Home Cinema projects clearly in any room.  These two things coupled with the easy user functionality, mirroring something you would find in a Smart TV, make the Leica Cine 1 Home Cinema in a league of its own.

Some of the incredible features that come with the Leica Cine 1 Home Cinema include the following:

  • Triple Laser Technology — The Leica Cine 1 has the industry leading and best-in-class triple laser technology, guaranteeing a lifetime of 25.000 hours. Offering up to 120” large image projection, the laser TV requires a significantly lower energy consumption than Organic Light-emitting diodes (OLED) TVs.
  • Connectivity at the Highest Level — By integrating the Smart TV with the TV Tuner, consumers can replace the traditional TV set completely. Leica’s system includes:
    • An integrated TV tuner including CI slot for pay-tv channels for linear-TV
    • The Google TV Smart TV Launcher for streaming entertainment
    • Hard drives or additional players such as Blu-ray players or game consoles can be connected via the integrated HDMI and USB inputs
  • Image Quality — Features an outstanding 4k imaging performance delivered by Leica Summicron ultra-short throw lens, supported by built-in Dolby Atmos speakers. By having the ultra-short lens, consumers can project content a few inches away from the wall, ensuring they get the 120” image anywhere in the room.
  • The Purist Design — The durable yet timeless, sleek aluminum body has an automated dust cover mechanism for improved lens protection. The all-around perforated cover ensures crystal-clear sound and optimal, unobstructed ventilation. This is a proud statement of purist design, elevating every home aesthetic.
