Actress La La Anthony brought Christmas joy to the Bronx on December 11 for her annual Winter Wonderland event spreading joy to underserved children in the Bronx county.
The Gaucho Gym in Mott Haven was transformed into an amazing winter wonderland for the children of Bronx County this past Wednesday. The children aged 8 to 16 were welcomed from GIRLS INC, NYC Police Athletic League, and Young Women Christian Academy. The food for the event was catered by Eat Clean Bro, a New Jersey meal prep restaurant.
The event was sponsored by Delsym who last year La La teamed up with for their Bring Comfort Home campaign. Delsym is a 12-hour cough suppressant highly recommended for adults. They also serve as the #1 pharmacist recommended cough suppressant and children’s cough brand as per the Pharmacy Times OTC Guide. We had a chance to catch up with the Brooklyn native before the event started to grab some insider information.
The Knockturnal: You’ve worked with Delsym last year for the Bring Comfort Home campaign and this year they’re a sponsor for the event. What made you want to work with them again?
La La Anthony: They align with my values of family and bringing people together. Delsym is the number one doctor recommended cough suppressant and it suppresses your cough for 12 hours, day or night. But Delsym has always been in my house. Like I just remember opening the cabinet and it was like always there. So for them to come on board and be a part of my vision and what I want to do for the community really meant a lot to me. So they’ve been a great sponsor.
The Knockturnal: You’ve partnered with GIRLS INC and NYC PAL for this event. What do those organizations mean to you?
La La Anthony: Unfortunately, now in a lot of the neighborhoods that we grew up in, you don’t have like YMCA’s anymore. You don’t have these centers for people to go and have something to do with their time.So that’s how you know, kids start hanging out in the street and things start happening. So I’m very supportive of, of those organizations because they do provide a safe haven for kids to be productive, be creative, and do great things.
The Knockturnal: If there is one holiday tradition you and your family could share with the world, what would it be?
La La Anthony: Just being together, honestly. Like, my family just loves to be together during the holidays at an event like this. My mom flew up for this, so I get to see everybody. My aunts and uncles are coming, so it’s like a reunion. And, like, my two cousins are the main people that help put this whole thing together. So, we turn it into, like, a full family affair.
