Kodie and Lil Yachty role play in the cute new music video for “Sad”
In one day Kodie’s dropped her 5-track Zero Gravity EP, as well as a new music video for “Sad” which features Sailing Team captain Lil Yachty.
In the video Yachty plays Kodie’s therapist Dr.Boat, red mustache, wig and all. Kodie lies on a couch in Dr.Boat’s office rapping “I just wanna be sad” before a flashback of speed dating hits the screen to help us understand what’s up. Kodie meets four not-so-eligible suitors at Big Andy’s 35th Annual Speed Date, one who brings a 40, another a penis sketch, a third who brings her flowers and a fourth who just brings himself, “Black Magic.” After listening to her problems, Dr. Boat reminds her that she’s forgetting someone and points to a pic of himself, at which point the real Yachty walks in and the the real drama begins. The video hilariously showcases their acting skills, while simultaneously depicting some real emotion. For someone so young, Kodie feels deeply and has an uplifting energy and swagger that draws you in. Check out the all new video below:
