Kettle Brand Celebrates New Gochujang Flavor At C As In Charlie

This new flavor features complex flavors of spice, saltiness, and sweetness all in one bite

This past week, Kettle Brand® unveiled the newest edition to their bold and unique potato chip line, Gochujang.  This limited-edition flavor dives into the rich and complex flavors of the popular Korean pepper paste that has been one of the hottest cooking ingredients this past year.  Each chip bursts with intense flavors that mirror the traditional Gochujang taste that people have grown to love.  This chip is a full sensory experience where the chip starts off with a moderate amount of red pepper heat that warms up your mouth.  That spice then transitions into rich savory and salty notes which is finished off with a touch of sweetness at the very end.

And to celebrate the launch of this new flavor, Kettle Brand® teamed up with Chef Eric Choi from the popular Korean restaurant C as in Charlie, located in New York City.  Kettle Brand® invited a number of influencers and media writers to the event to sample the new chip and indulge in a three course tasting menu that featured the new chip flavor.  The first course featured Chef Eric’s Beef Tartare with Kettle Brand® Gochujang chips where guests used the chip as a vessel for the tartare.  This dish can still be found at the C as in Charlie menu for a limited time.  The second course featured a Korean Chicken Pot Pie which incorporated the Kettle Brand® Gochujang chip inside the filling, adding heat and complex spices into the course.  The last course was a traditional Tteokbokki that incorporated the Kettle Brand® Gochujang chips into the sauce and highlighted the chips sweetness with this course.  It was truly fascinating and inspiring to see how many delicious dishes Chef Eric and his team could make out of this new flavor.

The new Kettle Brand® Gochujang Flavored Chips are available for a limited time starting this spring at retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $5.29 in packaging reminiscent of the brick red color of the condiment.
