Check out our exclusive interview with Kellan Lutz as he searches for the next Mr. Clean.

The original beloved Mr.Clean is going on hiatus after 60 years of fighting dirt and germs. But before Mr.Clean goes on vacation, the search is on for the new face of Mr. Clean to carry on his legacy. Mr. Clean held an open casting call earlier this week with actor Kellan Lutz. Kellan auditioned for the role himself which you can watch here. The next Mr.Clean will win $20,000, a supply of Magic Erasers and a free trip to New York. We sat down with Kellan Lutz to discuss his Mr.Clean collaboration and upcoming projects.

How did you get involved with this collaboration?

My team just brought it to my attention because they know I’m from Iowa and my agents, managers and stuff know that if it speaks to me I’ll do it as long as it’s legit to who I am, if not don’t even waste my time. Mr. Clean was very iconic to my youth, growing up on a farm for many years in Iowa, that’s where Mr. Clean’s from, I’d always get dirty playing around outside, that’s all we had time to do, we didn’t have T.V.s really to watch so we were always out getting dirty and I’d play in the pig pen a lot and my mom would run the bath with the bubbles and then she’d rip the soap in and the magic eraser in and it really would clean up everything, yeah it was very iconic to who I was and they asked me if I’d be into it and I was like yeah. Then they sent me the script and it was more mock-parody style and I was like yes!

Do you think you’ll have a say in who the next Mr.Clean is?

I better! There are some really good contestants here and I love that people came out to show their love for Mr.Clean and $20,000, that’s a great incentive.

You were hilarious in the Mr.Clean audition commercial, do you want to pursue more comedy?

I started my career doing comedy, I love comedy and love making fun of myself and playing against type, or with type. I love action movies. I’d love to do a fun comedic-action movie, that’d be great.

Can you talk about some projects that you’re currently working on?

“Science Fiction Volume 1” directed by Shane Abbess, starring Daniel Mcpherson and myself and then “The Nest,” starring Kelsey Grammer and Bingbing Li, who is like the Taylor Swift of China. There are rumors of He-Man being made and I would love to audition for that, that’s just such an iconic hero to me that, that would be a dream come true.

Can you talk about working with Kelsey Grammer?

He’s a legend. For me even working with all the Expendables 3 cast, each one of them are their own characters on and off camera and it was just great to have quality time with them, so to work with Kelsey Grammer on another movie and have more time with him, he is one of my most favorite actors to work with. He’s super funny and loves cracking up, especially the movie that we did, “The Nest,” He’s a brilliant actor, but when the camera’s not rolling there’s so much magic in the stuff that he comes up and his personality.

Can you tell us what’s on you playlist right now?

I listen to NF a lot, he’s this awesome rapper and Lecrae and I listen to a lot. I actually do a Music Monday on my posts so that might be helpful.

What’re some of your favorite brands?

I love Amazon and I love thrift stores, I go every Saturday. Like Out of the Closet or Goodwill back in LA. You find unique pieces and for me I like the quality of the material. I’m really into right now heavy old school jackets that I can cut the sleeves off of and make a vest, that’s a really good fall outfit. I like the whole lumbersexual look.
