Keds Celebrates 100 Years of Fashion

New York Fashion Week was off to a glorious start last night with a fabulous tribute to the centennial celebration of one of America’s favorite brands. It was a perfect way to honor the evaluation of an icon.In Chelsea, the best of fashion lovers and trendsetters gathered for Refinery29’s 100 Years of Keds celebration. The lovely Allison Williams hosted the brand’s milestone event. An energetic performance by Ciara and DJ set by Harley Viera-Newton kept the party going all night long. Guests marveled at the parties ‘shoe sculptures’ and museum of history in the room before Ciara sang her heart out. With wind blowing in her hair the musical set had the crowd swaying with delight. Songs sang included fan favorites “Goodies,” as well as a cover of “I Will Survive” by the global shoe collaborator and Keds collective member.

A number of influencers and notables in the fashion industry were spotted including Jamie Chung (Keds Collective Member), Nico Tortorella (“Younger”), Gigi Gorgeous (Model), Tess Christine (YouTuber), Russell Wilson (Seahawks Quarterback) who came together to toast Keds’ milestone. Throughout the evening delicious appetizers of sushi cones and veggie burgers were served along with specialty cocktails Ladies First and The Centennial.

At the end of the night VIP guests were treated to a custom pair of Keds, which will be a perfect compliment to any runway ready outfit this New York Fashion Week.

Historically credited as one of the first accessible, fashionable footwear options for women in 1916, Keds continues to foster and champion women and female empowerment. With the continuation of their global Ladies First platform, Keds will unveil an exciting new campaign for 2016.
