Kathy Bates, Gabrielle Union Among National Women’s History Museum’s Honorees

National Women’s History Museum (NWHM) and its Los Angeles Regional Council will host an exclusive Women Making History Awards brunch in Los Angeles on September 15.

The Women Making History Awards brunch aims to commemorate women’s achievements as well as generate awareness of NWHM and the importance of preserving women’s history.

During 7th annual Awards actresses Kathy Bates, Kristen Bell, and Gabrielle Union, and activist Patrisse Cullors will receive the “Women Making History Award,” an honor given to a select group of women who have made significant contributions to their fields and serve as an inspiration to women everywhere.

“Our nation’s greatest successes rest on American women’s shoulders, and it’s time to acknowledge their active roles in our history—the roles our grandmothers, mothers, aunts, granddaughters, daughters, and nieces play in the workplace, community, and home,” said NWHM Board Chair Susan D. Whiting. “Our honorees this year exemplify women’s contributions to the social, cultural, economic, and political life of our country. America’s history remains unfinished. It’s time to complete it.”

The National Women’s History Museum was founded in 1996 and envisions the world to become a place where women’s history inspires all people to equally respect everyone’s experiences, contributions, and accomplishments and to see there are no obstacles to achieving their dreams.
