Kantor Leads The New Wave of Melodic Bass With “Unbroken”

After having an extremely successful career with his other alias touring with Kendrick Lamar and Steve Aoki, Kantor decided to focus on a new project that captures the sounds, performance, and visuals he dreamed of for many years. In “Unbroken”, he fully evolves.

Unbroken” is one the most emotionally captivating and vocal-driven releases ever to come from Kantor. Moving messages in the lyrics like “I’ve been saddened / by my past / but I see our future / lets try and make it last,” yanks tightly on the heart strings as a tirade of melodic bass and somber chord progressions word in tandem with the topline to capture something Kantor hasn’t quite done before.

“‘Unbroken’ has been in the making for a very long time. This record is extremely personal to me as it relates to the heartbreak of losing someone (which ended up being a blessing) only to find someone who truly was my soulmate. The instrumentation iis a mix between glitchy future bass and orchestral elements to create a true hybrid of melodic energy. The lyrics on this track perfectly embody my feelings on the situation, so this song hits home quite hard. I hope anyone who listens to this record feels relief from a past relationship and knows that brighter futures are ahead.”

Kantor has shown 2-broad styles under 1 name when it comes to the sonic settings of these tunes, a heavily-imaginative cyberpunk on the one hand, which usually is paired with a mid-tempo/house feel. “Enter The Grid,” “Hacker,” “Power On,” and “Floppy Disk,” embody these traits. The other hand is a melodic bass side like in “Concrete Jungle,” and “Beside Me” bare.

No matter the direction Kantor takes, every work is well-rendered, crafted, and carefully-calculated before release to ensure a uniform experience is squared away and an enriching impression isn’t forgotten.
