John Krasinski To Direct & Star In ‘The Hollars’

In John Krasinski’s second film as a director, The Hollars will revolve around him as he returns home to take care of his mother, who is sick and will need all the help she can get before going into surgery.

Krasinski will play John Hollar, who will star opposite Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect, Into the Woods) who will play Rebecca. She even recently stated that she was given a pair of maternity pants to wear on the film set since her character will be an expecting mother.

Richard Jenkins  (The Cabin in the Woods) will star as John’s father Don and Margo Martindale (Million Dollar Baby) will star has John’s mother Sally. Plenty of other actors have signed on for the film, including Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Randall Park (The Interview), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World), Mary Kay Place (Being John Malcovich), Charlto Copley (District 9), and our favorite singer, Josh Groban.

The film was written by James C. Strouse, whose previous works include Lonesome Jim, New York I Love You, People Places Things, and The Winning Season. Krasinski’s previous film and directorial debut Brief Interviews With Hideous Men and several episodes of The Office.
