Jeezy is before all other things a hustler.
So it should be no surprise that in 2017, he is able to cook up a record that feels fresh without losing the original spice mix that drew us to tracks like “Put On”. While the tracks debuted at Avenue felt modern, Jeezy was totally comfortable on the beat, treating it like a La-Z-boy. However this shouldn’t come across as a surprise, with mantras like “trap or die”, Jeezy has been hammering in the fact that he does not stop working. He might not have his hands dirty in the drug game, but the studio has become the Snowman’s trap-house and there is little chance he will stop moving mp3 product. This is all not to say Jeezy doesn’t enjoy his earnings.
This past Monday, popular nightclub Avenue was iced up for an exclusive premiere of his new record: Pressure. Decorative diamonds were scattered around the tables, Avion was practically on tap, and a sizable diamond shaped ice sculpture drew everyone’s attention. Fabolous stopped by for support and the event had everyone feeling warm and excited for what was a pretty chilly record. There’s a frosty edge on tracks like “Cold Summer” and “American Dream,” that re-illustrate Jeezy’s non-stop hustle and relentless work ethic. It’s something I’d want to see in translation at a live performance, which thankfully you can attend as Jeezy also dropped the dates for his Cold Summer Tour.
