Jane Lynch On Another Season of Hollywood Game Night and Why It’s Been A Success

Hollywood Game Night has officially been renewed for a sixth season on NBC! The show is back and better with new games, a fresh set, and more opportunities for fun. Hosted by Jane Lynch, the shows return guarantees an epic battle of pop culture trivia.

“People tune in I think feeling like they are at a fun party. I think that’s the success of it and that’s why I think it was an immediate success. It didn’t take us anytime to get an audience,” Lynch said during the press preview of the new season.

“It’s like I’m having a party, it’s a bunch of shiny people and we get great contestants! We get terrific normal human beings who aren’t celebrities who come. Everybody’s kind of shiny and sharp and funny and whether or not they are a great game player, it doesn’t really matter it’s the amount of fun that’s had.”

If you aren’t familiar with the show, the game consists of two teams with four players each. The teams include three celebrities and one contestant who try to score higher than the opposing team. A total of five different games are played.

We had the chance to check out the set, speak to Lynch and even play some of the new games before the premiere of the season. Let’s just say that viewers can expect some exciting and hilarious games that will be sure to ensue some competition amongst players.

The new set resembles a beautiful beach house that overlooks the pacific coast highway creating the perfect ambiance for a game night. There’s even a backyard with turf and a patio making it ideal for active and larger games. At one point during our visit we found ourselves playing an over-sized version of beer pong and it gave us all the college vibes we missed.

Lynch’s energy and wittiness throughout is unparalleled and there’s no doubt as to why she won two Emmys for hosting the game show. During our encounter we asked if there have been been any guests who’ve shown competitiveness on the show and immediately she pointed out two time Hollywood Game Night veteran Yvette Nicole Brown.

“In the most gracious, beautiful, heart centered way Yvette Nicole Brown is a winner. She is focused and no one passes faster. She can tell right away! She’s like pass! Pass! She’s got a strategy and she knows how to do it. She knows how to spend time on the questions that she thinks she can answer especially about celebrity. She’s great!”

Executive produced by Michael Agbabian, Dwight Smith, and Michael Binkow, the sixth season of Hollywood Game Night is sure to please just like it’s preceding seasons. Make sure to stay tuned for the season premiere coming 2019.
