Jake Gyllenhaal and 50 Cent Host a Screening of ‘SouthPaw’

The screening in Los Angeles hosted many notable celebs and tastemakers.

Southpaw, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Forest Whitaker, Rachel McAdams, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson was screened to a star studded crowd including Alesha Renee, April Roomet, Brandi Garcia, Bresha Webb, Gloria Govan, Shawn Merriman and Thomas Jones.

The film, directed by the acclaimed director of Training Day Antoine Fuqua, follows the story of redemption story of boxer Billy Hope, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, as he fights to win back the trust of those he loves.

To convince audiences of being a champion boxer, Jake had to train like a champion boxer, which included two intense workouts a day, seven days a week. To motivate him, Antoine joined him on the physical endeavor. You can see the journey here.

Southpaw premieres in theaters July 24th.
