Helping Hearts Fund hosts a Sunset Cocktails Fundraising Event

On September 23rd the Helping Hearts Fund hosted a Sunset Cocktails event at the A60 Rooftop Terrace in Soho’s Thompson Hotel.

Guests enjoyed specialty cocktails like the Brugal Anejo Tradwind Tonic, Mcallan 12 year and the Snow Leopard Cucumber Gimlet while taking in the breathtaking views of New York’s skyline. There was also a silent auction, which featured items up for bid like Allure’s ‘Best of Beauty’ Gift Bag, a Daniel Wellington Classic York Watch, an Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation Session, and a Sports Illustrated 2014 Swimsuit Edition, signed by Nina Agdal, Lily Aldridge, and Chrissy Teigen.

The Happy Hearts Fund’s mission is to rebuild safe, resilient schools after natural disasters.

We spoke to Elise Goujon, a member of the Happy Hearts Council about her involvement in the charity:

The Knockturnal: Tell us how you got involved in the organization

Elise: I’ve been involved in the organization for two years because a friend of mine works with them and introduced me to it and I just fell in love with the cause, the cause is great – its education.

The Knockturnal: And if someone were to not know about the Happy Hearts Fund what are some things you would tell them?

Elise: That it is an amazing organization and they have built 118 schools in 9 countries – I saw a school opening in January in Mexico and to be there and to see the kids smiling and the kids welcoming you like you’re God on earth because you helped give them a school, that’s the best experience of my life.
