On Tuesday, July 31st, HBO hosted a special private screening of their new comedy series “A Black Lady Sketch Show.” The highly anticipated series from executive producers Robin Thede and Issa Rae combines a potent mixture of hilarity with black culture.
This exclusive event began with drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the prestigious Metrograph Theater in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, followed by an intimate game night hosted by writer and comedian Crissle West (The Read Podcast). Audience members were invited to participate in a one-of-a-kind, fun-filled, nostalgia-inducing card game, “Black Card Revoked,” featuring a special Black Woman in Comedy Edition Expansion Pack. Invitees excitedly shouted out answers to pop culture questions, such as: “Who sang the national anthem best?” and “Which Chapelle character was the best?”
