We can all probably agree that the pandemic kept us on our toes and more creative than ever before.
Haworth Inc. (a manufacturing furniture office space business) and Ennismore (a global collective of entrepreneurial and founder-built brands) used that unprecedented time to cultivate their million dollar brands into something even more expansive. Designer and Architect Patricia Urquiola, showed us how having a detailed eye and attention to all things artistry leads us to a place of good energy and positivity. Where intellect meets architecture and where furniture meets luxury is what I found most exciting about the Design Panel on October 12th, held in New York City at the Haworth’s Showroom. Collectively this panel demonstrated how just one idea, faith and hands on deck one can design, develop and manufacture just about anything for anyone anywhere at any time. Even during a worldwide pandemic. The panel emphasized the importance of energy flow and how it marries interior design, adding how the smallest details can contribute to any work space. One being; making sure couches are positioned perfectly for conversational purposes and togetherness. Another being; the importance of light and how it brings a certain type of essence to these spaces. All in which brings value, beauty and genuine hospitality. The panel truly did a great job in making us all aware of the several principles in interior design; unity, balance, energy flow, rhythm, contrast, proportion, and scale just to name a few. After attending this discussion I walked away with a better understanding for interior design and the importance of furniture and how the right pieces can really make a place feel exactly like home. Working from home is a gift but working from anywhere and still feeling like you are home is undefeated! What a lovely panel to learn from, ready to see where the future of hospitality and all things interior design will go!
