Golden Globes Top 10 Fashion Moments Illustrated by Chic Sketch

Hollywood’s biggest names graced the red carpet in Dior, Valentino, and Versace.

Emily Brickel Edelson, the talented artist behind Chic Sketch, a fashion forward mobile app that sketches photos into Instagrammable fashion illustrations by real fashion illustrators in a matter of minutes, has created a round-up of the 10 biggest fashion moments from the 2016 Golden Globes. See below as Emily offers up some insights on some of the top trends, including low necklines, ruffles, tiered layers, and shades of red, white and gold.

Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson looked amazing in this Michael Kors Collection gown.  I loved the matching fabric choker, making her look sleek, modern and a minimal version of 70’s glam. Very on trend.

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence looked like a true movie star in this updated version of a Dior Haute Couture classic. The positioning of the cut-outs are modern and edgy and the tiered crop top looks perfectly balanced with the 156 carats of diamonds in her Chopard choker.

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez wearing a yellow Giambattista Valli cape dress looked unreal. The perfect shade of lip and her skin tone looked to die for paired with this mustard shade gown. This color is always so hard to wear but she pulled it off in spades.  I love the way this gown drapes around her hips but is fitted at the top.

Zendaya

Zendaya always looks breathtaking and the Globes was no exception. She is donning the plunging neckline trend with a floral pattern in this Marchesa gown. The color was perfect for her skin tone and ruffles are going to be a big thing for 2016.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum

Jenna Dewan-Tatum looked stunning in this sparkly Zuhair Murad gown. The plunging neckline has been a trend this awards show and is sure to trickle into 2016. I love the way the glitter is in an asymmetric rose pattern, it’s an updated take on flower prints.

Taraji P. Henson

Miss Cookie herself in a Stella McCartney sweetheart cut cape dress looked ethereal. Paired with a vintage looking black and gold chain purse she packed the perfect amount of edge.

Alicia Vikander

Alicia Vikander in a white sequined Louis Vuitton apron dress was an unexpected win. The ruffles and pleated details will be a huge trend for 2016 and she made this dress look chic and modern with its clean white lines and fresh styling.

Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox in a white gown by Elizabeth Kennedy looked ravishing. The high boat neck and long train paired with emerald green jewels gave off the look of Hollywood Royalty. This one was a slam dunk in the style department.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Newly engaged Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in an antique gold Atelier Versace dress looked like a tall drink of champagne in the best way. Utterly stunning.

Malin Akerman

Malin Akerman in a strapless sweetheart beaded peplum gown by Reem Acra looked insane.  The perfect shade of silvery blue and beaded lace details looked divine and especially feminine with the way the fabric drapes in the ruffled peplum detail. Absolutely gorgeous.
