Backstage Beauty Report: God Save Queens SS17

Check out what products and techniques leading beauty experts used in the God Save Queens Spring/Summer 17 New York Fashion Week show.

God Save Queens is a Polish brand founded by Karolina Bernaciak in 2013. The brand focuses on feminine inspired looks with mostly lingerie and swimwear. We went backstage to get the 411 on the magic behind the scenes.

Looking at the collection this season, I know that God Save Queens is like super popular with influencers online and beauty bloggers and really cool girls all around, so I wanted to do something for them that felt really fresh and Spring/Summer and sort of like an edgier look so I actually am mixing up two MAC lipsticks that are available right now, they just came out about a month ago in this new collection called Banging Brilliant, which are super bright and have a glittery texture so mixing these colors made a dirty plum. I thought this color would be really cool for the girl who wants to be sexy, but doesn’t really color within the lines if you will, she wants to stand out, she wants to be noticed and wants to be out of the norm a bit, but still feel confident and strong.

The collection is lingerie, so the look is very fresh out of the shower sexy girl, very natural and bare.

What do you use to achieve that look?

I use all Lanza products and I’m using a L’ANZA  Keratin Healing Oil Combing Cream to achieve a look of wet without dripping and then a L’ANZA Healing Style Dry Texture Spray to lock in the cream and as for the top I’m teasing a little and working with my fingers and I’m using the L’ANZA Keratin Healing Oil Lustrous Finishing Spray.

It’s lingerie with a lot of nudes so we decided on a nude nail color to go with the collection, it actually compliments the color of the jackets they wear. So I’m using my color veil from my line Patricia and two coats of the natural nail so it looks clean and fresh.
