From Fragrance to Flirtation: Inside the LoveShackFancy x Tinder Secret Crush Café

I recently had the absolute joy of attending the Secret Crush Café, a dreamy three-day pop-up in the West Village created by LoveShackFancy and Tinder. Held at the new Dante Aperitivo , the event celebrated LoveShackFancy’s newest fragrance, Secret Crush, and brought the world of flirtation, fashion, and scent to life in the most whimsical way.

As someone who’s always loved immersive brand experiences, this one truly stood out—not just for how beautiful it was, but for how deeply thoughtful and curated every single detail felt.

I showed up in head-to-toe black, which seemed like a good idea at the time since I had another event that evening—sleek, chic, practical. But the second I stepped into the Secret Crush Café, I realized I had wildly underestimated the assignment. Surrounded by a sea of pastel pinks, floral dresses, cascading bows, and people fully leaning into the romantic fantasy, I felt like Elphaba in Glinda’s closet. But honestly? I kind of loved it.

The café, a three-day pop-up created by LoveShackFancy and Tinder, was designed to celebrate the launch of LoveShackFancy’s newest fragrance, Secret Crush, and bring its flirty, whimsical scent to life. Everything about it felt like a love letter to fashion and NYC. Think: vanilla-infused cocktails and desserts, tiered , secret garden vibes, and playful little brand touches tucked into every moment.

The transformation of the space was something else. It started as a blank canvas, and what LoveShackFancy and Tinder built together was pure magic. While Tinder may be the larger, more tech-driven brand of the two, it was clear they deeply understood the assignment when it came to partnering with LoveShackFancy. From the custom-designed floors to the life-sized Secret Crush fragrance bottle, to the pink vintage car parked outside, nothing was overlooked. Even the branded matchbooks  felt intentional—small, flirty moments that made the whole space complete. There was even a photo booth and pink vintage vehicle that were totally Instagram-worthy.  Inside, every detail had been considered. Even the hostesses were dressed in the Secret Crush Rialto Maxi Dress ($795) like they’d stepped out of a storybook.

They leaned fully into the vision—understanding that sometimes romance starts with the smallest spark. As Tinder CMO Melissa Hobley put it, “A crush is where that thrill begins — the butterflies, the sparks, the possibility of what could be.”

LoveShackFancy’s founder Rebecca Hessel Cohen was there in person, glowing and gracious. Her mother and close family friends were also in attendance, which made the whole thing feel deeply personal. This wasn’t just a marketing event—it felt like stepping into someone’s dream. That warmth and authenticity set the tone for everything. Tickets were tiered and available on Eventbrite, with general admission at $65 and a deluxe option at $125. And if you splurged on the deluxe? You walked away with a full-sized bottle of Secret Crush Eau de Parfum, which alone is worth $125.

And let’s take a moment to talk about the perfume—because as I’m sitting here typing this, I’m wearing Secret Crush, and honestly, it’s captivating. This is the sixth full-sized fragrance from LoveShackFancy, and it’s a standout. It’s a warm, sweet gourmand that captures the essence of a fluffy, dreamy vanilla fantasy. The scent opens with sparkling champagne and frosted chantilly, then unfolds into soft layers of white musk, creamy coconut milk, and sandalwood, striking the perfect balance between cozy comfort and fresh elegance. The bottle is just as romantic, with its pearlescent pink-and-gold finish, adorned in the Coquette Bow print, and topped with a sculptural golden bow—a nod to Rebecca’s lifelong love of ribbons. Rebecca has shared that she wanted a vanilla fragrance that was more dimensional, more grown-up.

Of course, the pop-up wasn’t just about scent. There was also the debut of the LoveShackFancy x Tinder capsule collection, available exclusively on LoveShackFancy.com. It includes button-up and boxer pajama sets that look like they were “borrowed” from your crush, a flirty Secret Crush tank top, and a cosmetic bag—all covered in LoveShackFancy’s iconic romantic print with a flirty flame from Tinder.

Whether you came looking for a spark, celebrating a crush, or just enjoying a little self-love moment like I did, it delivered. Part of the magic for me? I just re-downloaded Tinder after taking a little break—because honestly, someone special needs to smell this scent.
