Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort Reopens with a Stunning Coastal Redesign

Just north of Fort Lauderdale, the laid-back beach town of Pompano Beach is having its moment. Leading its revival is the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort, which officially reopened in June 2025 after an extensive, multi-million-dollar renovation that has redefined what coastal elegance means in South Florida.

The 219-room oceanfront resort feels new from the moment you arrive. Designed by Urban Robot Associates, the interiors channel modern coastal calm, with deep navy walls, sandy neutrals, and floor-to-ceiling windows framing views of the Atlantic.

The North Tower now features 100 redesigned guest rooms and 16 spacious suites, each with a private balcony and breezy, natural finishes that bring the outdoors in. The resort’s South Tower is slated to complete its transformation later this year, finalizing the property’s refreshed look and feel.

Outside, the new 3,000-square-foot pool deck steals the show. The zero-entry pool flows seamlessly toward the shoreline, surrounded by private cabanas, lush palms, and an oceanview hot tub. As evening falls, the firepits come alive, creating the perfect backdrop for sunset cocktails and relaxed gatherings.

Dining plays a central role in the resort’s comeback. The Kester, the resort’s new signature restaurant, pays homage to Pompano’s history with inventive New American cuisine by Chef Jerry Ayala. Highlights include short rib pappardelle and citrus-flamed local catch. For something lighter, The Citrus Club offers beachside favorites like fish tacos and watermelon feta salad, while Foxtail Coffee Co., a Florida-based roaster, fuels mornings with locally loved brews and ocean views.

The resort also doubles as a sought-after venue for weddings and events. With over 8,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, including an oceanfront terrace and elegant ballroom, the property is designed for celebrations that flow naturally from sea to sky.

“This isn’t just a renovation; it’s a reintroduction,” says General Manager Leslie Weil. “We wanted to create a space that reflects the energy of Pompano Beach and welcomes both locals and travelers to experience its renewed spirit.”

Just 30 minutes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and steps from the Pompano Beach Pier, the resort offers easy access to South Florida’s growing culinary and cultural scene. With its balance of modern design, inspired dining, and effortless coastal energy, the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort stands as a bright new symbol of Florida’s evolving beachside luxury.
